A useful kitchen starts with how you cook, gather, and store things—not just a cabinet color.
Begin with the friction points
Write down what bothers you about the current kitchen. Maybe preparation space is interrupted, pantry items are hard to reach, or the island gets in the way. Put those issues in order before looking at finishes.
Map the everyday items
Think about dishes near the dishwasher, pans near the cooking area, and preparation tools near a clear work surface. Discuss drawers and storage zones before deciding the outside appearance of the cabinets.
Plan the room as a whole
A cabinet layout affects appliance openings, lighting, and countertop joints. Take existing dimensions and photographs to your consultation so those decisions can be discussed together.
Prepare a clear project brief
Include your budget range, timing, and must-have improvements. Ask for a written scope that separates included work, allowances, and items you will provide.
